About
Editorial policy
How VisaTypes.com pages are written, reviewed, corrected and kept independent.
Accuracy first
The purpose of this site is to explain U.S. visa classifications accurately and plainly. A page that is unverified is not published. Each page carries a last-reviewed date, the official sources it was built from and a dated log of the changes that affected it.
Plain language, precise terms
We write for people reading about visas for the first time, without losing legal precision. Terms such as “petition”, “status”, “visa” and “admission” have specific meanings in immigration law and are used carefully. Where the law uses a defined term, we use it too and explain it.
Independence
No agency, law firm or service provider pays for coverage or reviews content before publication. If the site carries advertising, ads are clearly separate from editorial content and never influence what a page says.
Corrections
When a reader or our own review finds an error, the page is corrected once the official source confirms it, and the correction is noted in the page’s change log. Material corrections are not made silently. See Corrections to report a problem.
Not legal advice
Pages describe general rules. Eligibility always depends on individual facts, and agency practice can change faster than any reference site. Before acting, confirm with the official source linked on the page or consult a licensed immigration attorney.
